RESEARCH INTEREST
The principal topic of interest of Dr. Rossi regards the development of new stereoselective metal-free synthetic
methodologies, the stereoselective synthesis of chiral pharmaceutical products either by applying ad hoc designed
chiral catalysts, or by studying and developing innovative stereoselective synthetic methodologies. The most recent
topic his research concerns the development of catalytic stereoselective reactions under continuous flow conditions in
micro and mesoreactors taking advantage of new enabling technologies such as 3D-printing and photocatalysis. In
the last few years Dr. Rossi has been involved in different topic of research such as:
- Development of stereoselective organic reactions under flow chemistry conditions;
- Use of Chiral Lewis bases as catalysts to promote stereoselective reactions;
- Use of trifluoromethylthiolating and trifluoromethyl selenilating reagents in catalytic processes for the functionalization of unactivated ketones
- Enantioselective reductions promoted by organic catalysts for the synthesis of chiral (fluorinated) amines;
- Development of new chiral organic catalysts;
- Realization of 3D printed devices for fluidic applications
- Electrochemical organic synthesis of electron-rich biaryl scaffolds
